ROLE

Total Global Procurement (TGP) provides procurement services to all the operational entities of the Total Group.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a contracts lawyer to join the Legal Division dedicated to TGP in Paris. The role will be to advise on purchasing contracts for goods and services for the refining, petrochemicals, marketing & services, and gas renewables & power activities of the Total Group on a global scale. The role will be responsible for the drafting, review and negotiation of purchasing contracts and may include the following categories :

For Marketing & Services : * Packaging for consumer products.
* Construction and industrial maintenance on depots and other industrial sites.
* Network (service stations) : construction and maintenance.
* Network (service stations) : 'dry goods' and service station equipment.

For Refining and Petrochemicals : * Maintenance on oil refineries and petrochemical sites.
* Works on major turnaround and inspection projects
* Catalysts for refining and petrochemical processes.
* Polymer additives.


For Gas Renewables & Power : * Renewables (e.g. purchasing contracts for photovoltaic panels, solar power installation projects).


The role will also be responsible for : * Legal advice on dispute resolution in the pre-litigation phase and during litigation.
* Liaising with and supervising external counsel.
* Delivering legal training, the creation and roll-out of legal know-how, best practice guidance and model contracts.


The lawyer will collaborate regularly with Total in-house lawyers in different branches worldwide and with legal teams in the Total Group's Head Office in Paris, France.


TEAM
The international team consists of the Head of Department and six lawyers based on two sites : in Pau (South West France) and in Paris, France. The post is to join the three existing lawyers based in the offices in Paris.* Lawyer qualified at Master 2 degree (Bac +5) level in International Contracts and Business Law.
* Experience of working in a common law legal system.
* At least 6 years experience including a part in a major industrial group and/or an international commercial law firm, that included experience of the industrial and commercial activities of major industrial groups.
* Ability to work in French and English essential.
